Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. What video software do you use? A. Adobe Premiere
Q. What kind of computer do you have?
A. I work on a Dell Dimension 1800.
Q. How do you get your movie footage on your computer to edit?
A. With a software program called Super DVD Ripper. I paid about $35 for it, but it has been really worth it. I only use it to create videos...no copying movies to get out of paying for them.
You can check out the free trial or purchase the product
here.
Q. Do you make your own graphics?
A. Yes and No. Yes, I make all the picture links for the videos and have made a few wallpapers and banners.
No, in that I have two friends, Todd and Sandra, who have helped me with banners and different graphic elements for this site.
If you would like to contribute to the site in any way, please let me know.
Q. How did you get into Harry Potter?
A. I don't remember the exact timing, but it was one summer in college when I was at home, and my mom was talking about this Harry Potter book that was about an orphaned kid, who turns out to be a wizard. She had a copy of the first book and I read it. I remember because when I was reading and came to Hermione's name, I would say it in my head as "Her-me-own" :) I was very ignorant of the British culture, indeed...
Q. How did you get into making Fanflicks?
A. I first noticed them on the Internet soon after "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" came out in theaters in the summer of 2004. I was actually reading the movie's message board on
imdb.com
and read a post talking about a music video called
"Hermione's Boys".
I already had the editing equipment and thought of some songs and got started.
Q. Can I post your Fanflicks on my site?
I have no problem with you posting my videos on your sites, as long you e-mail and let me know who you are, your site url, and make sure to credit me.
Q. Will you ever make videos dedicated to other ships, such as Ron/Hermione or Harry/Ginny?
A. I started this site to be a focus on Harry and Hermione, both together and individually, so I've decided to keep it that way.
I am not adverse to watching videos of other pairings (as long as they're done well), but I am making it a rule that I won't make any or post them on this site.
Now, probably, every now and then, I will include R/Hr or H/G in a video, if it adds emphasis in relation to H/Hr...
There are plenty of other wonderful video sites that dedicate themselves to R/Hr, H/G, and even Draco/Hermione (which makes as much sense to me as R/Hr :).
Here are some suggestions...

I'm sorry if this is a letdown to anyone, but I have to draw the line somewhere...
Q. Why "savingpeoplething"?
A. I named this site after a quote Hermione says to Harry in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"...
It goes something like this:
From Order of the Phoenix,
Chapter Thirty-Two: Out of the Fire
He glared at her.
“And what’s that supposed to mean, a ‘saving-people thing’?”
“Well ... you ... “ she looked more apprehensive than ever. “I mean ... last year, for instance ... in the lake ... during the Tournament ... you shouldn’t have ... I mean, you didn’t need to save that little Delacour girl ... you got a bit ... carried away ... “
